DEMO 0.5 and 0.5.1 - Many new improvements and fixes!
UPDATE 0.5
New update is here! The main purpose of this update - to deal with a lot of small things, upgrade general experience and fix some nasty bugs, but there are also a couple of new stuffs! Enjoy!
You can now also play demo in browser - no need to download and unpack game!
Now to change log!
- The game has been converted to a resolution of 320x180. In this regard, some level geometry has been redesigned, backgrounds and GUI elements have been redrawn;
- Greenwoods once more was redone on a large scale (and hopefully it is the last time). The level geometry, enemy locations, various triggers and objects have been changed;
- Now you can find secret areas in Greenwoods;
- Improved character control;
- New camera implementation; it is not final and may change in the future;
- Increased the projectile speed of big slime, shooter plant and Gnoll Chieftain;
- The Ancient Ent battle has been changed: the amount of health has been changed from 75 to 80 HP; the number of summoned roots has been changed from 3 to 5 in the first phase and from 5 to 7 in the second phase; simultaneous attack with two fists has been changed to a sequential attack with fists;
- Changed the implementation of in-game cutscenes, now they work better;
- The King of slimes is back - now he is more dangerous than before. But first of all, you need to find him;
- Various bugs have been fixed, among them: enemy knockback and stun did not work correctly; the Gnoll Chieftain did not have a hitbox that causes touch damage when in contact with him; music could not be played correctly during ambushes; and others.
UPDATE 0.5.1
Before continuing to work on adding content, I decided to take into account the feedback from the testers and add small but pleasant things.
- You can now cancel an animation of attack at any time by jumping;
- The main menu is now animated;
- Game now has a custom mouse cursor (don't work in browser version);
- Added a hint at the world map;
- Now the chests retain their open state only if the player is saved. If a player opened a chest but died without being saved, the chest will be closed;
- The invulnerability time for the player has been increased from 1 to 1.5 seconds;
- Fixed the camera: now it is more convenient to use;
- Fixed an issue where damage could be dealt again when invulnerability frames were active.
